Matcha lovers, this one’s for you! We finally made it to Matcha Mia, and not only is it one of the cutest, most Instagram-worthy cafés in Houston, but it also serves some delicious matcha. If you’re looking for the perfect spot to celebrate Valentine’s or Galentine’s Day with a delicious drink in hand, this is it!

Matcha Mia takes their matcha seriously, sourcing ceremonial-grade matcha directly from a farm in Japan and even having their own exclusive harvest. With over 20 unique matcha latte flavor combinations, including bestsellers and unique flavors like Strawberry Horchata Matcha, Bluetiful (lavender and honey), and Guava, there’s something for every kind of matcha fan.

Beyond the drinks, the menu is filled with comforting bites, including paninis, grilled cheese with tomato soup, crepes, croissants, and more. Their frozen yogurt lineup features 12 flavors, the açaí bowls are made with fresh fruit and no artificial flavoring, and they even offer sugar-free drink options. The cozy space and welcoming staff make it an easy spot to spend an afternoon catching up with friends over a matcha latte or indulging in a sweet treat.

Matcha Mia isn’t just about incredible drinks—it’s also a spot for some of the most unique events in the city. They recently hosted their first-ever Matcha and House Music party, and it was such a hit that they’re bringing it back on February 16 from 12:00 to 3:30 p.m. This time, it’s the perfect Galentine’s celebration, with a live DJ, plenty of dancing, and, of course, delicious matcha. If you’re looking for a fun and different way to spend the day with friends, this is the move. The event is free with any purchase, making it the perfect excuse to grab a drink, dance, and soak in the good vibes. Plus, exciting news—Matcha Mia is expanding with a second location in The Heights this summer! Until then, we’ll be making plenty of visits to this gem for our matcha fix. Be sure to follow Matcha Mia’s Instagram and Houston Hotpass for updates—there may even be a matcha and crafting event in the future!
