Musaafer has officially put Houston on the map for Michelin-starred Indian cuisine, and after finally getting a taste, we can confirm—it lives up to the hype! From the moment we stepped inside, the experience was immersive. The interior transports you straight to India, with intricate design details that set the stage for what’s to come. But as stunning as the space is, the real showstopper is the food.
For first-timers, we recommend opting for the 12-course tasting menu (or 14-course at an additional cost). It takes you on a culinary journey across India, highlighting regional flavors with modern techniques. Each dish is plated to perfection, it was like tasting artwork.
If you’re ordering à la carte, you’re still in for a treat—the menu is packed with standouts, including a sizable selection of vegetarian options that don’t feel like an afterthought. A few must-orders? The Lychee Ceviche (vegetarian) is an unforgettable start, refreshing and unlike anything we’ve tried. And for dessert, the Gulub is a must—trust us on this one, the whole table was raving!
To round out the experience, don’t skip the cocktail menu or the zero-proof drinks crafted by 2025 Truffle Masters winner Afzal Kaba! We had the Zaffran 2.0 and Pumpkin Spice Kappi during our visit and both were elevated drinks with complex flavors! Afzal is a true master and all the drinks are well thought out.
