There’s something undeniably magical about watching a great love story unfold under the stars, and Moonlight Movies at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston delivers that magic in the best way possible. Set against the stunning backdrop of The Brown Foundation, Inc. Plaza Amphitheater, this outdoor screening series blends film, art, and culture in a way that feels effortlessly romantic. This experience is perfect for a date night or an outing with friends who appreciate a good love story!

Right now, the museum is showcasing its Love & Other Adventures series which features classic and modern favorites. Upcoming screenings include The Princess Bride on March 14 and Crazy Rich Asians on March 21. Seating is on the sloping Glassell School of Art roof, but if there’s inclement weather, the event moves indoors.

Tickets are $20 per person, with a $5 discount for MFAH members, students, seniors, and MFAH Film Buffs. Each guest gets a personal headset for premium sound, making sure every line and soundtrack note comes through crystal clear. Plus, signature cocktails inspired by the films are available for purchase, and the best part—free popcorn to complete the experience!

Pro tip: Arrive early! Happy Hour in the Kinder Building sets the perfect mood before the screening, and there’s time to explore the museum and check out student work at the Glassell School of Art. With first-come, first-served seating, getting there a little ahead of time means snagging the perfect spot. Tickets need to be purchased in advance on the MFAH website.
