Houston’s beloved brunch bistro and bar hotspot, City Cellars, is back and better than ever. After outgrowing their Museum District location, they have relocated to East End, where they now have a massive new space, a stunning patio with skyline views, and an expanded menu. When City Cellars first launched brunch in 2021, it quickly became one of Houston’s most in-demand spots. The original location became so popular that they had to start turning people away, reaching a point where they simply needed more space. Their new location is three to four times larger, giving them the freedom to expand both their menu and entertainment offerings while maintaining the same high standards that made them a local favorite.
City Cellar’s travel-inspired menu reflects the places the owner has explored, bringing international flavors to classic comfort dishes. The brunch and lunch lineup includes everything from Sriracha Mac & Cheese Balls to Chicken & Waffles (both must-tries!), with new additions like the Short Rib Grilled Cheese. We love how brunch is served every day and every dish is scratch-made in-house, except for a few desserts, which they source from local chefs. Just keep in mind that they’re 21+ every day, all day!
City Cellars is just as much about the drinks as it is about the food. They take pride in supporting minority-owned and women-owned wine brands, featuring a selection of rare indie wines and craft brews you won’t find anywhere else. Their cocktails are made with fresh-pressed juices, keeping each drink bright and refreshing. Some highlights include The Unknown, a smooth blueberry lime gin lemonade, The Birth Control, an oriental strawberry gin cocktail, and H-Town Hideaway, a spiced mango margarita with watermelon. They are even in the process of growing their own micro-farm for garnishes, adding an extra level of detail to their already well-crafted drinks.
With more space comes more entertainment, and City Cellars is stepping it up. Their live music lineup is expanding, with DJs playing every Sunday, jazz and acoustic sets filling the weekends. There are plans for new weekly karaoke and trivia night, Bingo & Steak Nights, and a speakeasy! With so many new developments, we recommend keeping to date by following their socials.
