The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston (MFAH) recently unveiled its new Late Fridays program! If you’re looking for a unique way to spend your Friday evenings, MFAH’s extended hours provide the perfect blend of art, culture, and relaxation.

Work hours can no longer keep you from visiting MFAH. Take advantage of their Late Fridays initiative! Every Friday, the museum extends its closing time from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., allowing you to explore world-class exhibitions in a more relaxed, intimate atmosphere—perfect for a date night!

Late Fridays offer a different vibe compared to daytime visits. The evening atmosphere is laid-back, yet buzzing with energy as art lovers, tourists, and locals alike gather to enjoy the museum’s extensive collections. Whether you’re here for European masterpieces, contemporary installations, or ancient artifacts, there’s something for everyone. The museum’s rotating exhibitions ensure that even regular visitors can experience something new each time.

Late Fridays are more than just a chance to see the art. The museum often hosts special events featuring live music, film screenings, and talks by artists or curators. Stay updated by visiting their website! These events add an extra layer of excitement, allowing guests to dive deeper into the world of art and creativity. Whether it's a jazz performance in the sculpture garden or a film screening that complements a current exhibition, there's always something happening to enhance the evening experience.

For the art history buffs and enthusiasts, complimentary 30-minute docent tours are included with your visit. There’s a ton to look forward to, including the museum’s happy hour in the Kinder Building (until 8 p.m.) or a light bite at Cafe Leonelli. It’s a great way to relax after exploring the galleries and a fantastic place to reflect.

Late Fridays at MFAH are perfect for date nights, a fun outing with friends, or even a solo adventure. With the combination of incredible art, evening events, and a vibrant atmosphere, it’s a must-do for anyone looking to mix up their Friday routine!
