Authentic Egyptian Restaurant in the Loop: Kenz Egyptian

Being the only Egyptian restaurant in the loop, Kenz Egyptian has some big shoes to fill. Luckily they are up to the challenge! They have been in the Galleria for some time, but recently underwent changes that resulted in a more authentic Egyptian menu. If you’ve never had Egyptian food before, Kenz is a great option with traditional flavors. 

We really loved their “Authentic Egyptian Experience” menu option. This curated feast includes 7–8 small appetizers, two main dishes, and a soup of your choosing. It’s the perfect option for exploring the depth of Egyptian flavors! Think of it as a culinary tour of Egypt on a single table—ideal for indecisive eaters or anyone eager to try a bit of everything!

If you prefer to order a la carte, Kenz has plenty of standout dishes to choose from. Their Koshary is an absolute must—this iconic Egyptian comfort food layers rice, lentils, macaroni, and a tangy tomato sauce, topped with crispy onions for the perfect bite. Other favorites include Bechamel Pasta, also known as Egyptian Lasagna, which combines creamy, cheesy goodness with rich layers of flavor, and Dolma, stuffed grape leaves that are packed with savory goodness. For protein lovers, the Shish Tawook offers tender, marinated chicken skewers cooked to perfection.

If you have a sweet tooth, make sure to save room for dessert! Their Kunafa with Nutella is chef’s kiss, featuring crispy shredded phyllo pastry with creamy Nutella filling—an indulgent finish to an incredible meal.
