Houston’s First Simulation Racing Lounge Located in Sawyer Yards: Velocity Sim Racing Lounge

Velocity Sim Lounge is making history as Houston’s first premiere Simulator Racing Lounge! It’s a full-throttle experience built for motorsports fans and thrill-seekers alike. Tucked inside Sawyer Yards, this brand-new destination brings high-speed excitement via state-of-the-art full-motion racing simulators that let you drift, slide, and feel every turn. It’s so realistic that if you “crash,” your car might even show a cracked windshield or misaligned steering!

Lined with different varieties of racing machines, Velocity is for casual players and competitive racers alike. Multiplayer mode lets you challenge friends head-to-head, creating an immersive, high-energy Mario Kart-style experience. Each headset connects you to your opponents in real-time, and to keep everything fresh and clean, they come with disposable ear covers. 

Their piece de resistance is “The Ultimate,” a pro-level simulator designed for full immersion. With a wrap-around screen and the highest Degrees of Freedom (DOF) of all simulators in Texas, it delivers the most dynamic range of motion, making you feel closer to the track than ever before. From luxury dream cars to F1 and GT race cars, you can take on simulated F1 courses and experience the thrill of high-speed racing without ever leaving the seat.

Beyond racing, the space is designed for socializing, with a full bar, racing-themed cocktails, and an elevated menu of bites. The lounge area features TVs for watch parties, and “Pit Crew” coaches are on hand to help you master the track.

And there’s more on the horizon! Velocity is working on adding a custom map of Houston’s 610 Loop, making it the only place in the country where you can take on the city streets in a simulated setting. You’ll soon be able to dodge traffic and accrue points for each car passed up– it’s any Houstonian driver’s dream!

Former racer and owner Viet Tran started Velocity after an injury sidelined his time on the track. His goal? To bring the thrill of motorsports to everyone, regardless of skill level. He and his team spent over a year designing, testing, and building their simulators to ensure they feel like the real deal. They opened their doors on March 1st and we hope they’re here to stay.
