Happy 4-year anniversary to the Rice Village Farmer’s Market! They have been fostering community and providing Houston access to fresh, local produce for almost half a decade now. It’s such a treat that their anniversary coincided with their Holiday market because they got to celebrate big with photo ops, holiday performers, and holiday artisan vendors! It had all the bearings of a traditional farmers market but with a fun, seasonal twist!
The market was alive with cheer, soundtracked by the tunes of DJ H-Town Charlie and Grandma’s Boyfriends Barbershop Quartet. Elves walked the market on stilts and plenty of festive activities were available for the whole family. There was artificial snow, a free petting zoo, plenty of photo ops, and an opportunity to meet Santa! The holiday photo backdrop was a hit, and the Toys for Tots toy drive added a meaningful way to give back during the season.
Shoppers had no shortage of options, from fresh produce to beautifully crafted artisan gifts. It was the perfect time to knock out some Christmas shopping and cross off some needed groceries. There were holiday themed baked goods and handcrafted items that made for thoughtful gifts. The market even had free beer sponsored by Saint Arnold Brewing for adults to enjoy while browsing the stalls, which was a fun and appreciated treat.
Rice Village Farmers Market’s Holiday Market truly had it all—great food, festive shopping, and unforgettable experiences. If you missed it, mark your calendars for next year. It’s the perfect way to celebrate the holidays with family, friends, and a big dose of community cheer! Until then, catch the market every 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month, rain or shine!
