Our Go-To Coffee Shop in North Houston: Barbarossa Coffee

If we’re spending the day up north, there’s one place we always stop by—Barbarossa Coffee. They currently have two locations in Tomball and Spring. No matter which you visit, this cozy coffee shop has everything we love: in-house roasted coffee, fresh pastries, and a warm, inviting atmosphere that makes it easy to settle in for hours. From the moment we walk in, the aroma of freshly roasted beans sets the tone for a perfect morning.

Barbarossa takes their coffee seriously, and it shows. They roast their beans in-house, sourcing from 13 origins. They even have a display of their single-origin beans and teas for customers to smell before ordering. It’s a small detail, but it makes a huge difference in crafting the perfect cup. With multiple brewing methods to choose from—including siphon and Aeropress—there’s something for every coffee enthusiast. You can look forward to each sip, whether it’s from a bold espresso or a smooth pour-over.

Of course, no great coffee moment is complete without something delicious to pair it with. Their pastries, made in-house, are just as impressive as their coffee. The croissants are buttery, flaky perfection, and typically filled! We especially liked the pistachio one. It’s nearly impossible to choose just one sweet treat, so it’s our ritual to pick different ones and share!

Beyond the coffee and pastries, Barbarossa creates an environment that has a calming, homey vibe. With plenty of seating, it’s an ideal spot to work remotely or catch up with friends over a latte. On select Thursdays, live music adds to the charm, turning an already great space into a full-on vibe. And for those who want to deepen their appreciation for coffee, they offer monthly espresso and latte art workshops.

And exciting news—Barbarossa is expanding! A two-story location is in the works for Magnolia, meaning even more space to enjoy their incredible coffee and pastries.
